Papa and Pokey Productions was inspired by the parents of our founder, journalist and filmmaker Hélène Biandudi Hofer. For nearly two decades, Hélène has covered human interest and social issue stories as an anchor/reporter and a documentarian. Her award-winning work has appeared on PBS, NPR, commercial broadcasting, and more. This work was greatly influenced through life experiences-turned-lessons on race, racism, culture, and equality from Hélène’s parents, who taught her how journalism and storytelling can be a powerful vehicle for making connections across lines of difference.
